Maybe it’s the unique blend of historic homes and officers’ quarters mixed in with elegant newer construction or the quaint cluster of restaurants and businesses that more or less spans only one block or the incredible beauty of Nature that thrives between the homes and businesses, seemingly immune to the rash of construction in similar areas. It is also the people who make Sullivan’s what it is today; whether lifelong residents, workers dedicated to improving it, characters who embrace it or a combination of all of the above, the Island would not exude such magic without them.
